Cutting Edge Strategies for Museums

Independence, October 3-4, 2008

Sponsored by MHC in partnership with the Museum Education Roundtable of Kansas City

Focus: Dramatic improvements in visitors' experiences and success-oriented school relationships to meet state curriculum standards.

Presenters: We have invited innovative, national leaders from the Conner Prairie Living History Museum and the Virginia Association of Museums to provide instruction that will help you make immediate improvements in how your institution relates to visitors and schools. You don't have to be a living history museum to find inspiration from Conner Prairie! You don't have to imagine that Missouri is Virginia! This is a rare opportunity to address the leading needs of virtually every museum. Curriculum specialists from Kansas and Missouri are included in the conference sessions to apply general principles to specific state standards.

Registration: $30 per participant (free for the first two participants from member organizations in the Museum Educators Roundtable of Kansas City). The size of the facilities is limited, and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Conference Facilities: The National Frontier Trails Museum, the Bingham-Waggoner Estate, and the Chicago-Alton Depot are all an easy walk from each other.
