CONSULTANT GRANTS
Consultant Grants may be submitted at any time. We are able to notify applicants within two weeks. These grants provide up to $500 in support of the honorarium and travel expenses of a humanities scholar serving as a consultant to an organization planning to submit a formal grant application to us. They are intended for non-academic groups that need financial support to translate their good ideas into successful proposals. Colleges, universities and institutions with humanities scholars on staff are not eligible to apply.
PROGRAM GRANTS (UP TO $2,500)
Program grants of up to $2,500 are due on the first working day of every month. We can notify applicants within one month. These grants can support a series of lecture/discussion or reading/discussion programs, conferences, and workshops. Other possible formats are walking tours of historic sites or art exhibitions, pre- or post-play discussions, and discussion programs focused on an exhibition or on the showing of a film, videotape, or slide/tape.
PROGRAM GRANTS (OVER $2,500)
Program grants for amounts over $2,500 are due on the first working days of May, September, November, or January. We notify applicants within six weeks of submission. These larger grants provide support for programs such as conferences, teachers' seminars, exhibits, or other adult education formats.
Applicants may submit a draft for staff review and suggestions at any point before the deadline. For programs costing more than $2,500, the following deadlines apply:
