Juarenne Hester and Myra Unger served as co-chairpersons for "Books/Events" of Liberty's celebration of the 175th anniversary of the city's incorporation as a separate political entity. Juarenne and Myra not only spent two years planning and presenting the book, Liberty for All: Celebrating 175 Years, but they also planned the May 7-8 celebration in and around the historic city square and new city hall. The book and events celebrated the culture, history and traditions of the small western Missouri town of Liberty on the Missouri River.

The book was edited by Myra Unger and written by 17 longtime residents of Liberty. The book includes topics from the African-American experience and city government to women of note and commerce. It features 300 photos and is being incorporated by Liberty schools into history lessons, art classes, drama projects and community service.
