The Missouri Humanities Council is pleased to announce ten new members have been chosen to serve on the Council’s board of trustees. We want to offer our congratulations and welcome Mary Berry (Maysville), Debbie Depew (Sullivan), Gerald Early (Webster Groves), Kathlyn Fares (Hawk Point), Kathleen Nigro (Chesterfield), Jerome Offord (Jefferson City), Pamela Riggs (Marshall), Lorraine Sandstorm (Seymour), Alan Warne (Kansas City) and David Carl Wilson (St. Louis).

MHC depends on its board members to provide guidance and support for its mission, and to represent the organization in building partnerships and connecting with our constituents throughout the state.  Each member adds a unique perspective, based on their varied experiences and backgrounds, and will serve on one or more committees that take a direct hand is assisting the MHC staff in variety of areas including grants, programs, and development.  The MHC board members also review and vote on grant applications and select the recipients of the Missouri Humanities Awards.  Our newest members will begin taking part in these activities following orientation sessions to be held in November and December 2011.

Profiles of our new board members will be presented in small batches in the next three issues of the Missouri Passages newsletter.
