MHC arranges "almost annual" exhibit tours from the Smithsonian Institution. We also are now circulating a low-security exhibit on Sac and Fox Heritage and will soon add an exhibit on Osage Heritage.

Michael Bouman Guides a Tour Through a German Lieder Performance
Our February issue of Missouri Passages links to a blog posting on the art of singing German art-songs (Lieder). The case in point is a YouTube posting of a 1966 performance by the German baritone, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. He is shown singing Franz Schubert's "Gute Nacht," the first song of a cycle titled, "Die Winterreise." Michael learned "Gute Nacht" as a student and attempted to build a complete collection of Fischer-Dieskau's recordings. He admits it was an impossible task. The singer was the most-recorded person in history.
