October 28, 2017, 10:00 AM
Writers will learn the tools of the trade in the all-important job of shaping their writing for final publication or personal use. We will look at how word usage and punctuation affect meaning and tone. In conclusion, we will explore how all three sessions combine to support your writing skill set. Writers can also receive advice/critiques from the session leaders of writing they have produced in the sessions or have been working on at home. The workshops are co-presented by the Missouri Humanities Council, the Writers Place, the Moral Injury Association of America and the Kansas City Public Library. Lunch will be provided. The workshop is free and open to past or present military members and family members of veterans. Attendees must register for each session and are strongly encouraged to attend all five.
