October 21, 2017, 10:00 AM
By studying examples of memorable, imagistic writing, we will learn how writers imaginatively engage the senses of touch, sight, sound, smell and taste to create vivid scenes, paragraphs and stories. Writers can either bring their writing from the previous week to work on, or begin a new piece with suggested writing prompts. The workshops are co-presented by the Missouri Humanities Council, the Writers Place, the Moral Injury Association of America, and the Kansas City Public Library. Lunch will be provided. The workshop is free and open to past or present military members and family members of veterans. Attendees must register for each session and are strongly encouraged to attend all five.
