Forms & Applications

All MHC on-line documents are readable on all computers, provided that the computers have installed the free "Acrobat Reader" software from Adobe. If you don't have the Acrobat Reader, just click on this link to download it from Adobe, and within minutes you'll have it installed on your computer. Then you will be able to read any of our documents in the Portable Document Format, or PDF version.

Note to users of WindowsXP Service Pack 2

The security provisions of Windows XP have been considerably beefed up in the recently-released "Service Pack 2," which comes as standard equipment on new computers and Windows upgrades. Specifically, the Internet Explorer web browser has had its numerous security holes patched and re-patched ad infinitum. IE is now configured to prevent you from "downloading without thinking." When you attempt to try to download our documents, IE will stop the process and require your positive decision to proceed.

Many tech writers these days are recommending the free Firefox browser from mozilla.org as a safer alternative to Internet Explorer. We have found, however, that while Firefox is a wonderful browser, the "Windows Update" feature will only work correctly if you use Internet Explorer. Therefore, MHC's technical staff recommend that you leave IE set up as the default web browser so that Windows Update and Office Update will work, but that you give Firefox a try for other situations.
