James
Symmonds is the retired Vice-President for Development at Linn Technical College.
He was the coordinator of a highly successful charette program in 2001 at the Osage County Historical Society. He subsequently served as a consultant in other charettes in Salem, Neosho, Columbia, and Louisiana.
Jim holds a B.A. in English from Culver-Stockton College, with additional study at Lincoln University. He is the recipient of the Outstanding Service Award of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; Teacher of the Year award from Linn Technical College; and Honorary State Farmer Degree from the Future Farmers of America.
He is a two-term member of the Thomas Jefferson Library Board, City of Linn Park Board, and the Osage County 911 Committee. He has served as a board member of the Capitol Region Hospital, and was an Original Incorporator of The Foundation for Linn Technical College and the Osage County Community Center Committee (serving as a member and Chair.)
