Tom Spencer is an Associate Professor of History at Northwest Missouri State University. He earned a B.A. in history from Trinity University, M.A. in History from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a Ph.D. from Indiana University.

He is a four-time recipient of Faculty Research Grants, a member of the Nodaway County Historical Society, and a judge of Region I History Day.

He has served as a humanities scholar in association with MHC programs in previous years.
