
Marianne E. Inman was appointed President of Central Methodist University in 1995 after serving for five years as Vice President and Dean of the College at Northland College, Ashland, Wisconsin.
Her presentation, Insights on the Middle East: Perspectives on Iran, was on the program of the speakers bureau of the Wisconsin Humanities Council. Prior to that, she worked for eleven years at Alaska Pacific University and served as a member and treasurer of the Alaska Humanities Forum.
A scholar of linguistics and foreign language education, she earned a B.A. with highest honors from Purdue University, an A.M. from Indiana University, and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.
She has published and spoken extensively on topics related to language and intercultural communication in the global business environment as well as higher education leadership. She maintains a busy speaking and preaching schedule in higher education groups and United Methodist churches.
