Doris Greene received a B.A. in Elementary Education from Owens College in New York City and an M.A. in Folk Art from New York University.

She is a member of the Louisiana Mural Committee, the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce, the Missouri Association of Community Arts Agencies, and the Pike County Agency for Developmental Disabilities.

She has served as a counselor to the Rotary International Student Exchange Committee, as President of the Raintree Arts Council, and as Vice-President of the Louisiana Area Historical Museum.

She served as Chair of the 2001 and 2003 Pike County Chautauqua Committees and participated in MHC charettes in Newton County and Pike County. She is currently serving as Chair of the Chautauqua Committee.
