Julie Douglas joined the MHC staff on March 1, 2006. A former Kindergarten teacher with fifteen years of classroom experience, Julie is also a published author of children's literature and an experienced workshop designer and trainer of adult parents, writers, and care-providers.
She created literature-based learning activities for use in The Mailbox Magazine, a teacher resource, and self-published a newsletter for primary grade teachers, "The Classroom Mouse." She is the author of "A Parent's Guide to St. Louis" (Parent's Guide Press).
Before and during her undergraduate education at Truman State University, Julie was a volunteer and summer employee of one of the country's premier living history attractions, Living History Farms in Urbandale, Iowa.
