Members of the Board

About Board Membership

Our board numbers 24 Missourians from diverse occupations - civic leaders, business people, historians, teachers, writers, and others. Members serve a maximum of six years.

Each year the board solicits nominations of qualified individuals and elects members to fill vacancies that occur through term limits. Six of the board positions are filled by the Governor. There is a nomination process managed by the Governor's staff and explained on the Governor's web site.

Our volunteer board reflects the variety that is Missouri — from the Ozarks of Laura Ingalls Wilder to the Hannibal of Mark Twain or the west-looking Independence of Harry Truman. Our quarterly meetings are open to the public.
