National History Day in Missouri
Michele Hansford, Director of the Powers Museum in Carthage, sent this note about the National History Day state competition. "I thought you would like to know the outcome this year just to see where all the projects were coming from and what students/teachers are doing. The project the museum coached won in Junior Individual Projects. We also coached another home-school participant and she is one who Glenna Wallace (Chief of the Eastern Shawnees) worked with a bit. The student has already been asked to give her program this Thursday at the Neosho Library (courtesy of Glenna) for one of their Native American programs this month. She is just tickled! Powers also provided materials to two other NHD projects from the district, and one of those, is also headed to nationals." See the roster of Missouri
Winners.
